The CCEBA presents the exhibition “Memories in gestation” in Recoleta
The Cultural Center of Spain in Buenos Aires presents the exhibition “Memories in gestation”, organized by the MediaLab CCEBA program.
This exhibition of artistic and technological practices will officially open this Wednesday 13 November at 18 hours and will be available in theaters 7, 8 Y 9 from the Recoleta Cultural Center, offering free entry for residents of Argentina. The exhibition brings together proposals selected from 2023 Y 2024, now materialized after a process of exploration and conceptualization led by a curatorial team composed of Rodrigo Alonso, Mariana Rodríguez Iglesias, Go from Sava, Jasmine Adler, Florencia Levy and Javier Villa, under the coordination of Emiliano Causa and Matías Romero Costas.
display, curated by Jimena Ferreiro, includes works by Andrés Belfanti, Federico Ragessi, Penny From Rome, Indira Montoya, Karen Palacio, Franco Palioff, Leonello Zambón and the Involuntary Union, who present a variety of poetics in contemporary Argentine art. Their works share an interest in the evocation of memory through different strategies and languages..
Among the notable works, “Poetics of Nature” are found, de Penny Di Roma, an installation that includes LED lighting, a hygrostat, an ultrasonic humidifier and a moss ecosystem, displayed in the room 7. Also presented is “Études (About a found player piano roll)”, by Andrés Belfanti and Federico Ragessi, a sound installation. In the living room 8, Indira Montoya proposes the video installation “You will become salt”, composed of videos generated with video game engines and a virtual reality experience. In the living room 9, Franco Palioff presents “ElectroChikry”, while Leonello Zambón and the Involuntary Union exhibit “The Memory of an Echo. “Aural mirages in the ghost desert”. Karen Palacio, meanwhile, presents the work “Border Language. Other infinities in the technical fissures of the systems”.
The curator of the exhibition, Jimena Ferreiro, reflects on the temporal focus of these works, highlighting how artists explore memory from multiple, non-linear perspectives, creating spaces of coexistence between ruins and different temporalities.
The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Friday 13.30 a 22 hours, and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 11.15 a 22 hours in the enclosure located in Junín 1930.
MediaLab, celebrating its twentieth anniversary, seeks to stimulate research in contemporary art and its intersection with technology and science. Since its creation in 2021, the call “Support for production. Contemporary art MediaLab” promotes sustainable development, promoting creativity and innovation, while promoting gender equality and environmental awareness. This program is aligned with the objectives of the Agenda 2030 say la HIM, addressing issues such as cultural diversity and social inequalities through the works on display.
