Gabriela Cabezón Cámara was awarded the Medifé Filba Foundation Award 2024 for his novel “The Girls of the Naranjel”, published by Penguin Random House.

This recognition adds to a remarkable journey of success, which includes the Ciutat de Barcelona Prize 2023 and the recent Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Prize awarded at the Guadalajara International Book Fair.

In his acceptance speech, the author expressed: “Thank you to the world, the worlds, that open up to us when we read and write. Literature is the kingdom of freedom, that has something individual and a lot of collective. It is there in writing—which is always a reading—where the collective imagination uses an author., by an author, from an author to crystallize some of the forms that humanity is hallucinating for itself”.

Cabezón Cámara reaffirms its place as one of the most prominent voices in contemporary literature, consolidating a path that continues to resonate both locally and internationally.
