Tilcara: The Terry museum reopened its doors this Friday

The Terry National Museum located in the Jujuy city of Tilcara reopened its doors to the public this Friday, that you will be able to appreciate a large part of the renowned artist that gives the venue its name.

Following the corresponding health protocols, The doors of the museum will also remain open on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and in this way, It will be possible to continue with the presentation of the permanent exhibition that contains works by the painter José Antonio Terry and his sisters Leonor and Sotera.

As explained by the director of the venue, Juan Muñoz, "The pandemic impacted on culture in a way that is still difficult for us to measure" and added: “I believe that museums cannot reopen their doors to be the same institutions that closed in March. We are challenged to play an essential role in the community, to address other issues and go out to meet groups that have suffered to a greater extent the impact of the pandemic ".

Regarding all activities, the Terry Museum has been working with local artists, running programs for children, girls and young people with activities in squares and rural schools, disseminating footage, generating spaces to think about culture and heritage from a gender perspective.

Following this line, the guided tours are particularly designed to receive the local public, promoting not only enjoyment, but also reflection from the collection and history of the museum, understanding that this material allows us to know stories from the past, think about identity and the present, as well as imagining and building future stories.

It is important to note that the schedules at the moment range from 14 a 18 and only friday, saturday and sunday. further, the routes will not exceed 25 minutes and will have a total of 6 people per shift.
