Indigenous artisans from Argentina present at FILAH 2020
Within the framework of the 31st edition of the International Book Fair of Anthropology and History (FILAH) that takes place in Mexico, Argentine indigenous artisans will give the present with the proposal "Creators of time".
It should be noted that for this edition, Argentina appears as the guest country of the meeting, for this reason, the Ministry of Culture of the Nation, through the Market of Traditional and Innovative Argentine Crafts (MATRIA), will be part of this traditional event that will take place from this Tuesday until 5 October.
National participation will be with a proposal that portrays the cultural diversity of our country, through the life and work of artisans from the Diaguita Calchaquí peoples, mapuche, mbyá guaraní, moqoit, qom, tutiati chané, wich’í and yagán.
The kickoff of "Creators of Time" occurred in March, more precisely in the CCK and in the framework of the commemoration of the International Working Women's Day.
Your presentation at FILAH 2020, while, will consist of an audiovisual production, that travels through its different cultures and creations, with a majority of testimonials in their own language.
The creators are indigenous artisans who, also, They lead different processes in their communities such as the safeguarding of techniques and procedures of traditional crafts, the productive and commercial organization for handicrafts, cultural revitalization, the fight for land, the sustainable management of resources, family and community economies, the defense of the native language and, in some cases, university and intercultural political organizations. Their voices reveal the diversity and vitality of Argentine artisan production.
It is worth noting that our country also, will offer other cultural proposals within the fair, as exhibition and sale of books from Argentine publishers, samples, presentations, conversations, movies and musical shows.
