According to Hugo Maradei and Gonzalo Cadenas, through curatorial text, the exhibition corresponds to the "tribute to a friend". Within this framework, both point out that “those of us who had the honor of treating Guillermo Mordillo on a regular basis heard repeatedly several of the phrases presented in this exhibition, that represented his particular way of looking at life ".
Thus, "Many of these thoughts were poured into the catalog of the anthological exhibition held in the year 2009 At mallorca, a place beloved by Guillermo as much as Buenos Aires and where vacationing, like all years, met its end just over two years ago ".
But in addition to the well-deserved tribute, “When this sample was exhibited in Buenos Aires, it served as the starting point to launch a space that was longed for by him and all his colleagues and friends, space where the entire rich graphic history of the country is represented, and that of its illustrators from different sides: graphic humour, cartoon, illustration and animation; without ignoring the new generations that will undoubtedly give it continuity ”.
For this reason, the Tres Pinos Foundation has decided to create the Museum of Graphic Illustration (ME), institution that, will work in the future, in the stately building located on Avenida Almirante Brown and Finch the historic neighborhood of La Boca, from Buenos Aires.
