The Konex Foundation announced the literary personalities of the decade
The President of the Konex Foundation, Dr. Luis Ovsejevich, and the President of the Grand Jury of the Konex Awards 2024, Maria Teresa Andruetto, announced the names of the 100 most prominent personalities of Argentine Letters during the last decade (2014-2023), in its 45th edition of the Konex Awards. The Grand Jury, composed of renowned figures from the literary field, selected the winners in 20 disciplines linked to literary activity.
Among those distinguished are prominent novelists such as Juan José Becerra, Gabriela Cabezón House, and Edward Sacheri; Renowned storytellers such as Mariana Enriquez and Samanta Schweblin; poets such as Diana Bellessi and Michelangelo Federik; notable essayists such as Tomás Abraham and Graciela Maturo; and renowned playwrights such as Lola Arias and Rafael Spregelburd, among many others.
In addition to discipline awards, the Grand Jury awarded special recognitions, like Konex Mercosur, which was delivered to Ailton Krenak from Brazil, and the Konex of Honor, granted postmortem to Luis Chitarroni. Special mentions were also highlighted, among which are the Historical Archive of Argentine Magazines (AHIRA) and the South Program.
This year, Tribute was paid to unforgettable figures of Argentine literature who died in the last decade and who had received the Konex Prize in previous editions, including Sergio Chejfec, Angelica Gorodischer and Hebe Uhart, among others.
The Konex Awards, instituted in 1980, They aim to recognize and sow the future, annually distinguishing the most valuable personalities and institutions in all branches that make up the cultural spectrum of the nation. The culminating awards ceremony will take place in November, where the will be delivered 20 Platinum Konex, the Konex of Brilliant, and other special recognitions.
