The tenth edition of FIDBA will arrive with more than 70 projections

Between 30 November and 4 December the Buenos Aires International Documentary Film Festival will take place (FIDBA), more than 70 projections that can be enjoyed freely and free of charge in different venues.

With the return of face-to-face, the festival will celebrate its first decade with the most outstanding selection of national and international non-fiction cinema.

In this opportunity, the venues of the festival will be the Cultural San Martín, CCK, the cinema museum, the Alliance Française and the York Cinema, of olive trees. In total there will be 70 movies from 23 America countries, Europe, Asia and Africa.

FIDBA this year will have 4 competitive sections: International Feature Film Competition; Competencia Argentina de Largometrajes; Competencia Internacional de Cortometrajes; and Argentine Short Film Competition. further, presents a Panorama of contemporary documentary that can be seen online at lumiton.ar, and a focus dedicated to the French filmmaker Chris Marker ten years after his death.

As part of the mission to promote new talents in contemporary documentary film, FIDBA will present through its Industry Area #LINK, twenty projects in an advanced stage of production in different regions of Latin America. The activity will take place at the Fortabat Museum of the 27 al 30 of November, with prior accreditation.

The film chosen for the official kick off of the meeting will be “Travesía Travesti”, by Nicolas Videla (Chile, 2021). The movie, which is part of the Festival's International Feature Film Competition, portrays the last function of the Travesía Travesti Cabaret that coincides with the social outbreak in Chile, the 18 October 2019.
